0 sleeps till Prologue!

Thanks very much for following the progress of the Crohn’s Crusaders. On Thursday we arrived in Europe and we only have 30 minutes until we start the ride! We can’t wait.

Training has progressed along pretty well and (we think) we are ready!

e-news call to action

One of our two project goals is to raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease via 10,000 e-news subscribers and we currently have just under 3,000 subscribers. I really want to achieve this goal and am asking you for your help.

Please forward this newsletter on to at least five people and ask them to join the e-news as well. It’s totally free to join and this is our major avenue for raising awareness. And, all e-news subscribers will go in the running to won a SONY Cybershot digital camera which will be drawn in the last week of the ride as we edge closer to Paris.

You can join the e-news at the homepage of the website at www.thecrusaders.com.au

Prizes/Competitions

e-news subscribers will also be able to win some fabulous prizes courtesy of our very generous sponsors. More info at:

$10,000 Anonymous Donation

We received an enormous donation of $10,000 last week marked only as “anonymous”.

Whoever you are, I would like to thank you very much for your generosity as your kind donation is a tenth of our overall fundraising goal and will go directly towards research into finding a cure for Crohn’s Disease.

Thank you very much and I hope this gets the ball rolling for more large donations.

Crohn’s Crusaders Patron, Simon Gerrans, Wins Stage 14 of the Giro d’Italia

A big congratulations to Crohn’s Crusaders project patron Simon Gerrans who won Stage 14 of the Giro d’Italia.

An excerpt from Simon’s site:

Simon had his first Giro d’Italia stage win today at the top of the San Luca climb in Bologna. Gerrans and his teammate Philip Deignan were part of a breakaway that took off from the peloton only 12km into the stage, and in the final kilometer, Gerrans rode away from the remaining survivors of the break for an uncontested victory.

The Crohn’s Crusaders were excited to congratulate Simon in person when he joined us for a 15km ride around Monaco on 1st June.
