Day 15, Tonnerre Rest Day
I am sick of dreaming about riding every night. I can’t get away from it. I ride all day, get to the hotel, eat, go to bed, dream about riding. There is no escape.
It was a semi-productive rest day today. I’m sure we will be experts by the time we get to Paris.
We are staying in a great place. Really friendly and homely. We stored our bikes in the garage next to the chef’s Harley which looked unreal. We thought he must be a top chef to have a machine like that and it reassured us that our bikes would be safe if it was safe to store his Harley there. Later, he arrived in his Lamborghini so we are even more confident that he is a great chef now. So confident in fact that Dale and I tried escargot for the first time. Not bad, not bad at all. (Dad wasn’t too thrilled with the couple who had their two poodles sitting with them at the table next to us though)

There are two Tour de France teams staying at this hotel next month and the chef said that he now considers it three teams that he has hosted this year as even though we are not pro’s we are riding the whole distance and that is good enough for him.
